Whether you’re semi-retired, changing careers, or returning to work, your practical DIY skills, life experience, and proactive attitude are exactly what schools need. No prior caretaking experience is required.
What’s involved?
The role of a school caretaker is dynamic and rewarding. Typical tasks include:
• Locking and unlocking the site
• Performing security and perimeter checks
• Managing deliveries and moving equipment
• Setting up meeting rooms and event spaces
• Conducting fire safety and compliance checks
• Liaising with external contractors
• Carrying out basic repairs and maintenance
• Supervising cleaning staff

• Reliable and professional

• Skilled in communication and problem-solving
• Passionate about supporting the local community
Benefits:
Permanent roles will include full job descriptions and salary details, as provided by the hiring school.
For agency and contract work, we’re pleased to offer the Real Living Wage.
• National Real Living Wage: £12.60/hour. With rolled-up holiday pay, you’ll receive £14.12 per hour worked.
• Greater London Living Wage: £13.85/hour. With rolled-up holiday pay, you’ll receive £15.52 per hour worked.
Mileage
• Outside Greater London: Paid at 30p per mile when travelling more than 10 miles from your home.
• In Greater London: Paid at 45p per mile for all travel.
