At the same time we are investing in the Operational Risk Oversight (ORO) team in the second line of defence and are looking for a Reviewer to join our ORO Strategy and Operations team working alongside Head of Strategy and Ops and colleagues in IT, Data, Security, Third Party Risk and Change. This part time role will be key to the success of the wider team in enabling us all to work more effectively and efficiently in pursuit of ORO’s goals.

What you’ll be doing

In this role you’ll be responsible for delivering reviews of our internal deliverables such as the Close and Continuous approach, response to PRA requests/reviews. Overseeing definition of done and evidence to substantiate it. Contributing to delivery of ORO strategy and operational effectiveness through:
• Delivery of Management Information to the Operational Risk Oversight SLT to meet their needs and target their attention in areas requiring focus. Continually reviewing the MI pack to ensure it is effective in this respect and prompts relevant discussion and action; Being skilled in the use of Power BI or the ability to learn, would be advantageous.
• ORO Operational Effectiveness Contribute to improving the focus/efficiency of ORO’s operations, in terms of re-use of briefing material and having a clear and up to date briefing schedule to all Committees, raising suggestions with manager and SLT/other team members, including team training.
• Co-ordinating the review and updating of Strategy docs and plans Complete continuous and periodic reviews, as required with the wider team, of the ORO Strategy, Comms and Improvement Plan within agreed timescales.
• Guidance which is fit for purpose. Take responsibility for ensuring we have clear, comprehensive guidance for the Reviews and Close and Continuous work acting on feedback from the team.
• Oversight/QA of ORO outputs Support delivery of internal (within ORO) and external (to 1LOD) reviews or allocated review work to a high quality, in accordance with agreed scope and in compliance with the Review and C&C approach documents wherever applicable, including the ORO annual plan.
• Present findings of tasks/local reviews above to senior management and agree appropriate actions.

About you

To be successful in this role you’ll need:
• A track record of developing and maintaining professional business relationships with key contacts across local teams, and in the wider enterprise (across all Lines of Defence for this post).
• Evidence of the ability to communicate regularly and effectively both in an informal and formal way, but also by virtue of a clear communication plan to ensure that – work is appropriately co-ordinated, all wider team members are aware of work underway, relevant findings and common themes are identified and reported appropriately and there is a common message across the whole team where necessary to share what has and will be delivered and why it is important.
• To be able to demonstrate experience in co-ordination of a broad area of work and the reporting which is required to maintain the ORO Strategy and Operations Team site. In ORO this means ensuring our Close and Continuous plans and Reviews are easy to find on CACL and issues on Metricstream and a strong evidence base is at hand if needed by the team, Audit or the Regulators.
• Experience of ensuring access to briefings is seamless to ensure a proactive management of the forward briefing plan.
• The ability to work with a regular briefing timetable and ensure contributors have good notice of requirements for their input.
