We are currently looking for Paramedics with 5+ years experience to work in a GP Surgery in SW London (South Croydon Area)
2-3 days per week – Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Paramedics Enhancing Primary Care
The significant contributions that experienced Paramedics can make to Primary Care are now widely recognised. These contributions include providing crucial support to patients in the community and helping to reduce avoidable hospital admissions. Paramedics working in the community can reduce hospital admissions with 70-80%.
We are actively seeking enthusiastic Paramedics who are interested in becoming part of a team working within the realm of Primary Care in the South Croydon Area. You would be working in a GP’s surgery within a Primary Care Network (PCN). Our expanding array of exciting and diverse projects offers a unique opportunity for those seeking a forward-thinking alternative from the traditional role of a frontline Paramedic.
The Role will require a commitment to undertake additional learning in order to qualify and register as a First Contact Practitioner(FCP), this learning will be fully supported with a GP supervisor and NorMed clinical lead. You will collaborate closely with GPs and other Healthcare Professionals, conducting patient assessments, assisting with care plans, making referrals to community teams, updating records, ensuring patient safety, administering vaccinations, and managing patients within the appropriate care setting.
The role will include:
• Acute and chronic disease management home visiting service
• Care home ward rounds
• One the day clinics for acute conditions
• Advance care planning conversations
• Long term condition reviews
• QOF visits
• ECGs, BP checks and phlebotomy
• Learning disability, dementia health checks
• Visiting house-bound or vulnerable patients
• And much more
Requirements:
Essential:
• HCPC registered Paramedic since 2020 or earlier.
• Willingness to complete FCP development and portfolio work.
• Experience of working in a Primary Care setting
• Able to commute to South Croydon / Selsdon area.
• Own transport
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desirable:
• Urgent and Primary Care HEE level 7 education
• Worked with EMIS / Accurx
