As an Optical Manager, you’ll have access to the wider Asda network, receiving support from Home Office teams and Area Managers who will work closely with you to maximize your role’s potential every day.

About You

Our Optical Managers are key to our success, ensuring the team has everything in place to deliver high-quality patient service.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire operation, including:
• Managing your team of Optometrists and Optical assistants
• Overseeing compliance processes and procedures
• Reviewing sales forecasting and department targets
• Dealing with customer queries

You’ll also be responsible for clinic management and shop floor process to ensure the department is well-equipped for customer needs.

In close partnership with an Optometrist, you’ll coach and develop your team, requiring confidence in coaching others.

This role demands organization and effective time management due to its fast-paced nature and diverse responsibilities.
You’ll be:
• A fully qualified dispensing optician registered with the GOC
• On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
• Confident in coaching others
• Able to provide excellent customer and patient care
• Driven and ambitious to ensure the department meets its targets
• Proven leadership skills in a fast-paced Optics environment
• Organised and able to manage your time effectively

When applying to any of our Optical positions, you must be registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) for the relevant professional role type and provide evidence of Right To Work in the UK.

During the compliance process, you’ll be required to provide evidence of being on the NHS performer list for the nation or Health Board you wish to work in, along with providing two clinical references.
