Mothers Help with Special Needs Experience

Marianne

Hello, we live in chorlton (m21) by st werberghs tram and have a lovely 8 year old son. He has hearing aids and glasses and learning difficulties. He is delayed in speech and other areas and generally a happy giggly boy who loves being outside as well as books, building towers and puzzles. He is a delightful little chap with a hugely infectious laugh that builds up relationships with familiar people, and is extremely rewarding to be with seeing his bits of progress in areas other kids might take for granted.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person for weekends, school holidays and after school to take him out and do some basic learning work (e.g. he is learning to trace his name and building basic vocabulary). For example trips to park / cycling down the fallowfield loop to get hot chocolate at costa / swimming / climbing etc. Or go to the local library or the tram into town (he has a tram /bus pass). He loves being outdoors and thrives with 1:1 positive interaction.

A regular commitment or ad hoc for a weekly session (eg Mondays after school, or a Saturday morning) and/or any ad hoc time you have available during holidays is appreciated. Or if you can do every day after school that’s brilliant too. We can be flexible around other work you have. Payment is £15.50 per hour but is negotiable depending. Thank you for reading!
