Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Consultant – Cloud Architect to help shape and grow Trifork in the UK. Your experience as a cloud-native engineer and technical leader will be crucial in designing, architecting, and implementing scalable, reliable cloud native solutions.

What You’ll Do:
• Architecture & Delivery: Design, build, and develop modern, scalable application platforms. Implement secure and highly available solutions, based on industry-standard tooling and techniques such as Kubernetes clusters, real-time data streaming pipelines, 12-factor apps and scalable machine learning platforms.
• Leadership & Consulting: Provide technical leadership and guidance to clients and colleagues in the areas of engineering, cloud, and data engineering. Advise on best practices and pragmatic solutions applied to both software architectures and engineering organizations.
• Hands-On Development: Work across infrastructure-as-code (IAC), automation, container orchestration, and distributed systems to deliver robust, cloud-native solutions.
• Pre-Sales & Business Development: Assist with proposals, client discussions and technical input during pre-sales engagements.
• Mentoring & Education: Guide and support our consultants and client teams in learning and applying best practices in modern engineering.
• (Optional) Public Speaking: Represent Trifork at international conferences and meetups.

What We’re Looking For:
• Technical Leadership: Proven ability to guide clients, lead teams, and architect complex distributed and data-driven solutions.
• Cloud & Platform Engineering Expertise: Strong experience with cloud native architectures (ideally Azure, but this is not a pre-requisite). Working knowledge of DevOps, GitOps, Kubernetes, Terraform, and automation tools.
• Commercial awareness : You ground your technical decisions in what is best for our customers’ business in both the long and short terms.
• Distributed Systems & Event-Driven Architecture: Understanding of microservices, event sourcing, CQRS, and domain-driven design.
• Security & Observability: Experience with monitoring, tracing, logging, and secrets management solutions like HashiCorp Vault.
• Problem-Solving & Communication: Ability to ask the right questions, uncover core issues, and communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
• Innovation & Continuous Learning: Passion for staying up to date with new technologies and best practices.

Preferred Experience & Tools:
• Modern application architectures, 12-factor apps, Team Topologies
• Platform engineering techniques: Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code Observability
• Expert in at least one mainstream language, such as Java, NodeJS, Golang, C#, and proficient in at least one other language
