Data Analytics – Analyst

This international group is a leading provider of Insurance and Reinsurance and have an opportunity to join as a London based Data Analytics Analyst

You will support the global internal audit function. This role, within the Professional Practices Group, is ideal for an energetic individual with a passion for data analytics to assist in the growth and continuous improvement of the data analytics program.

Working in London and alongside a peer group based in the US/UK responsibilities will include:
• Provide technical support for key applications such as TeamMate, SharePoint, Shared Drives, Asana, Grammarly, Articulate, and Tempus.
• Manage ongoing enhancements and the rollout of audit tools and applications.
• Oversee access management, including recertifications and verification processes.
• Deliver technical support for the annual and quarterly Audit Risk Assessment and Audit Plan processes.
• Conduct research and deployment of new tools.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing to ensure system resilience.
• Execute analytics and reporting projects, under supervision, including requirements gathering, development, validation, and interpretation of results.
• Collaborate with auditors and other stakeholders to identify new opportunities for analytics and visualisations, specifically those that would benefit from being developed into automated and repeatable solutions.
• Communication with Data Analytics team members and their managers to ensure alignment and support.
• Develop and expand Data Analytics capabilities and skills.

You will ideally be able to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s a plus) in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Math, or any other related field.
• A minimum of 2-8 years of relevant experience in data analysis or a technical domain.
• Experience in internal audit, within the financial services industry, or working in public accounting / advisory services / consulting would be advantageous.
• Experience in extracting large volumes of data from databases and multiple file formats, and then transforming, staging, and creating ad-hoc and automated solutions (e.g., reports and visualisations) appropriate for different audiences, using tools such as SQL, Alteryx, Python, Power BI, and the other tools on the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Experience producing valuable analyses and visualisations by working closely with the customers to gather requirements and refining the solutions through multiple iterations.
• Demonstrated skills with data analytics tools and techniques, such as SQL Server, Alteryx, Python, among others.
• Experience in data management, RPA, machine learning, statistics and IT project management is desirable.
• Experience extracting data from SAP, Guidewire Policy Centre, Guidewire Claim Centre, and TeamMate+ is desirable
