We are looking for a dynamic, customer-focused person to join us as a Customer Service Assistant on a part time basis (25 hours). Knowledge of the London transport system would be advantageous.
Primarily based at our London City Airport information office, you will be part of a busy team and occasionally working alone. We also have a second information centre at Tower Gateway. You will be the friendly face of Docklands Light Railway, responsible for welcoming visitors to London through one of the city’s most iconic airports.
Key duties will include selling Oyster Cards, tickets, theatre tickets, merchandise and other small items from the shop. You will also provide the best possible travel advice to our customers across the network. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will anticipate customers’ needs at all times. You will proactively provide assistance by:
• Responding to customer queries quickly
• Ensuring all problems and emergencies are dealt in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures,
• Prioritising safety and customer care
Our Customer Service Assistants work in a fast-paced environment. The right candidate will have customer service experience.
We offer a 5-day rota over a 7-day week to support airport opening times.
Shifts are usually 7-8 hours long and start at various times:
• Earliest start is 06:00
• Latest finish is 23:00
Essential
• Excellent communication skills
• Values diversity within team and customers e.g. nationality, age, disability
• Experience in a customer facing role
• Computer literate (emails, apps)
Desirable
• Knowledge of the London Transport system and Airports
• Experience in Retail
• MS Office skills
