Adams have serving the main catering markets including Fast Food, Indian, Chinese, and Fish & Chips for over 35 years. From 8 locations across England, we are a Food, Drinks, & Consumables supplier who work with some of the world’s biggest brands.
At our Preston site the Assistant Branch Manager will have organisational and management responsibilities, reporting to the Branch Manager. The business operates on a 7-day a week basis, with all the team working five days out of seven including weekends.
Experience in a Wholesale/Cash & Carry is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
Future Opportunities , this post is particularly suitable for a new or recent graduate seeking a challenging career path, or for a Manager/Team Leader to develop to progress into more senior management roles.
Candidate specification
Responsibilities
• To act as a point of contact for all queries from staff, customers and suppliers
• To manage, organise and provide training for Cash & Carry staff
• To review job applications and arrange interviews as required
• To update the staff on company policies, procedures and rules changes in meetings
• To oversee and assist with stock control and ordering including organising and undertaking the bi monthly stock-checks and ensuring goods are always in stock
• To deal with customer issues and process as necessary
• To handle investigations and meetings for grievance and disciplinary procedure
• To assist the Branch Manager to deliver all Health & Safety requirements and undertake any other project work that may be reasonably assigned from time to time
• To organise and undertake the Branch Cash & Bank processes
Technical skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages

• Ability to work independently on own initiative with minimal supervision
• Ability to interpret and apply company policies
• Ability to analyse customer needs and make recommendation based on sound business knowledge and commercial acumen
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to respond flexibly to change
• Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm for working with a varied client group which includes retail and warehouse staff
• Good multicultural awareness
