The Analysis and Participation Officer provides research, analysis and scrutiny support to the Scottish Commission on Social Security (SCoSS) within the Directorate for Social Security.
The role is situated within DG Communities, Social Security Directorate, Social Security Policy, Social Security Strategy, Welfare Fund and Winter Benefits Unit, Scottish Commission on Social Security Secretariat.
The Analysis and Participation Officer will provide support to the SCoSS Board, an independent Commission appointed by the Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, providing scrutiny of the Scottish social security system. SCoSS has a key role in both establishing and maintaining the Scottish social security system, working with the Scottish Government, the Scottish Parliament and key stakeholders to scrutinise the Scottish Government’s performance on the principles of fairness, dignity and respect set out in the Social Security (Scotland) Act 2018.
