Job Purpose

The Stock Control Manager will be responsible for implementing and rolling out an efficient stock control system to optimize inventory management. This role will oversee stock levels, ensuring accurate records and efficient stock flow while preventing overstocking or shortages. Additionally, the Stock Control Manager will manage the procurement of goods, ensuring purchases are made at the best possible price and quality to support the company’s operational and financial objectives.

envisaged and the range of duties and responsibilities to be undertaken. It does not

holder at regular intervals. The post holder will be required at all times to perform any

other reasonable task, as requested by the Line Manager in order to meet the

operational needs of the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities (This list is non exhaustive and other areas of responsibility may be included)
• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of a stock control system to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain robust stock control procedures, and best practices.
• Monitor inventory levels, conducting regular weekly stock audits and reconciliations to identify discrepancies.
• Ensure stock movements are accurately recorded and reported in the system.
• Oversee the purchasing function, negotiating with suppliers to secure high-quality goods at the best prices.
• Monitoring remote engineers stock counts to ensure parts are kept at an acceptable level at all times, whilst ensuring the most cost effective delivery method is taken into consideration
• Develop strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply chains and minimise disruptions.
• FLT Driving.
• Organising trolley parts and component transfers between Depot’s where required.
• Analyse stock data to forecast demand, manage lead times, and optimise stock turnover rates.
• Working with the Operations Manager and Director to develop processes to improve stock control.
• Work closely with other Departments, including Accounts, Operations, and Transport, to align stock control and procurement strategies with business needs.
• Liaising with Head Office daily to provide stock count reports & weekly updates to demonstrate that parts/stock is being controlled.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in Inventory Management.
• Ensure compliance with Company policies and industry regulations regarding stock control and purchasing.
• Train and manage a team responsible for stock handling and purchasing activities.

Essential Requirements
• Full UK Driving Licence (ideally a clean licence is preferred)
• Forklift licence
• Proven experience in stock control, Inventory Management, and purchasing, preferably in a Managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of stock control systems and best practices in inventory management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage teams and liaise with stakeholders.
• Experience in rolling out or implementing new stock control systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing competitive supplier agreements.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret inventory data and make strategic decisions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
• Professional certification in stock control, inventory management, or procurement (e.g., CIPS, APICS) is a plus.

Hours of Work

You will be required to work 41.5 hours per week, Monday 6.30am – 5.00pm, Tuesday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break

Weekend work as and when required depending on business needs

Pay & Benefits
• £28,000 salary
• 30 hours appointment leave after 6 months service
• 29 days annual leave entitlement per holiday year, inclusive of bank holidays,with length of service holiday accrual.
