Wage / Salary: Approx £39,000 – £45,000 per annum gross.

Live in/out: Live-out

Days & Hours: Approx 40 hours per week;
• 1x afternoon after school a week
• 3x mornings (help get ready for school 8-10.30am)
• 1x Saturday or Sunday a week/bi-weekly
• 1 -2x overnights a week, from 10pm-10am Flexibility and shift changes for the right Sennie

Essential Skills/Traits:
• 2+ Years SEN Childcare experience
• Compassionate and Caring
• Attentive and Alert
• Enjoys helping a little sensory seeker to explore the world.
• Proficient in medical care, including: Suctioning and monitoring airways as he frequently gets chest infections; Peg feeding; Hoisting and positioning to ensure comfort; Medication management to adhere to prescribed treatments
• Experience with Epilepsy/ Seizures
• Capability to assist with physiotherapy exercises to aid in B8’s physical development.
• Experience in providing assistance with bathing and other personal care routines, ensuring dignity and comfort.

SENNIES is excited to support a loving little family, seeking a Sennie to provide the support and companionship B8 needs throughout his day. Despite being profoundly disabled, B8 brings so much joy, laughter and perspective to his family and friends. In this role, the Sennie will be responsible for ensuring B8’s safety and well-being, as he requires constant adult supervision. This includes monitoring his airways, assisting him in his wheelchair, and providing emotional and physical support.

The Sennie’s day-to-day tasks will involve engaging with B8 in meaningful conversations about everything and nothing, responding to his communication (& guitar serenades, which he plays on his Eye Gaze device), reading him stories, singing & dancing if you feel the mood and helping with his physiotherapy exercises. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing his medical needs, which include administering medication, monitoring for signs of epilepsy, and offering general assistance to facilitate a safe, nurturing and mellow environment.

Most roles are based in and around London, however, we cover all of the UK, have partnered with a travel company to provide holiday Sennies for family vacations in Europe and post new roles weekly! Once you are registered with us, you will get job alerts to your email directly.

All roles are paid between £15 – £20 per hour gross and if you have a specific SEN qualification or you are a qualified teacher you can sometimes earn up to £25 per hour gross! Our roles abroad are paid at £20 – £25 per hour gross and will be offered on a self-employed basis.
