Job Title: Node.js Backend Architect

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Node.js Backend Architect with expertise in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance backend applications. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to develop backend systems using Node.js and Azure, ensuring optimal performance and scalability to support business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design & Architecture:
Develop and architect backend systems on MS Azure, including databases, APIs, and microservices, that meet business requirements and performance goals.
• Collaboration:
Work with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, system architectures, and integration points.
• Documentation:
Create technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and design documents outlining system structure, functionality, and interfaces.
• Code Review & Mentorship:
Review code, provide technical guidance, and mentor the development team to ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
• Standards & Best Practices:
Ensure adherence to coding standards, development best practices, and security guidelines across the system.
• Troubleshooting & Debugging:
Troubleshoot and debug issues across the entire application stack, including front-end, middleware, and backend systems.
• Quality Assurance:
Develop and implement strategies to ensure system quality, including performance optimization to improve responsiveness and throughput.
• Technology Trends:
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in Node.js development, contributing to best practices and standards within the organization.

Key Competencies:
• Experience:
10+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale web applications using Node.js or Java.
• Node.js Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of the Node.js ecosystem, including popular libraries and frameworks.
• Cloud Platforms:
Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred) or AWS.
• Database Design:
Solid experience with database design, particularly Snowflake, and SQL.
• API Development:
Strong expertise in RESTful web services and API development.
• Problem-Solving & Debugging:
Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems.
• Collaboration & Communication:
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

NOTE: Any experience in the insurance sector would be beneficial.
