Lead Software Engineers (Node.js / Typescript) – Major Ecommerce Brand – (New Remote First Team)

Salary – £95,000 / £100,000 + Benefits

Location – Sheffield / once a week on site (Some Flex)

Senior Level roles open / Remote First Team (team meet up once per month – Sheffield)

We’re looking for a Backend Software Engineers to join a newly formed team in a fast-growing eCommerce business. You’ll help build a cutting-edge digital platform (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-Native, Headless) that powers high-profile websites and apps, shaping the future of retail technology.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop Scalable Backend Services – Build and maintain microservices using TypeScript and Node.js, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Design & Maintain APIs – Create robust GraphQL and REST APIs for seamless system integration.
• Integrate with External Platforms – Work with headless CMS, e-commerce platforms, and payment providers.
• Collaborate & Support – Work cross-functionally, provide feedback, and contribute to team success.
• Enhance Code Quality & DevOps Practices – Advocate for best practices, CI/CD improvements, and maintain scalable, high-quality code.

Technologies:
• Back End skills in TypeScript and Node.js
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience working with Cloud environment (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• GraphQL and REST APIs
• NoSQL and SQL databases
• A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including quality assurance, continuous integration/delivery, and automation
