All selected DSUS students will become a member of their local University Air Squadron if they aren’t already. You are encouraged to apply to join your local UAS on arrival at the University, as being a member of the UAS allows you to be fast tracked through the RAF Bursary selection process.
Being part of the DSUS will give you unique, hands-on experiences that will prepare you for life beyond university, and in your future career.
Overview
DSUS is there for those who plan to join the RAF as an Engineer/ Cyberspace Officer
– £5,000 paid per academic year
– Tuition fees up to £9,250
– Plus £1,500 for 30 days of training including adventurous training, flying training and work placement opportunities at an RAF base in the holidays.
– Join your local University Air Squadron
Join the RAF after you graduate from university.
– The DSUS (Defence STEM Undergraduate Sponsorship Scheme) is open for students who will graduate from university from summer 2025.
– You must be studying a suitable engineering/ cyberspace course.
– A-levels (including maths and physics at Grade C or above) plus five GCSEs (including English language and maths at Grade C/4 or or Scottish Equivalent (SCE/SNE);
– Must be studying an accredited Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate engineering subject (for Aerosystems) and an appropriate technology or scientific subject (for cyberspace communications electronics)
